The Waffle Window

These Waffle Window waffles are those waffles crazy great-grandmother who gives you awesome presents for your birthday.

One of the best things about Portland is street food. It’s everywhere and it is almost always pretty delicious and reasonably priced. The Waffle Window is no exception (well, except that these waffles maybe aren’t really street food?). Anyway, while I am the first to admit that I do not hold any sort of waffle professorship, I think these waffles are the tops. I am use to that simple Sunday morning quick-batter waffles cooked up in one of those irons and served with some butter and syrup. These Waffle Window waffles are those waffles crazy great-grandmother who gives you awesome presents for your birthday, and sometimes even when it’s not your birthday because she is crazy and awesome or something! These waffles think they are crepe’s and get all dressed up in crepe condiments, or whatever crepes wear. However you want to describe these waffles, one thing is certain: they are pretty fucking delicious.

Ok, enough about these waffles being crazy and delicious and served from a window, the question I think you are asking is, “What makes them so great that you cursed?” Imagine, if you will, a Waffle with mushroom, spinach, roasted peppers, tomato, and lemon-thyme marinated Chevre! Or, imagine fresh raspberries, raspberry coulis and lemon curd. Now, imagine that you don’t have to imagine that waffle, and you understand what this waffle window is. In short, whether you want something sweet or savory, just go and eat, and eat and enjoy.
