Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life
Mark has been at Lewis & Clark since 1989. He directs the office of religious and spiritual life, which focuses on providing spiritual and religious life programs and resources for our students and is the liaison office with the Holistic Wellness LLC (Living Learning Community). Mark teaches in the Exploration & Discovery program on occasion, and serves on a number of college committees including the IRB (Human Subjects Research Committee) and the IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee). Mark has been a part of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Week planning committee since these annual programs began in the early 1990s. Mark and his wife Melinda live across the street from the college. They have two young adult daughters, the youngest of whom is a junior at Chapman University in southern California. Mark is active in Milwaukie Presbyterian Church, and just finished four years of service on the national advisory board for Higher Education Ministries with the Presbyterian Church (USA). Mark enjoys exercise, jogging, and being a recreational golfer.
