What three words would you use to describe L&C?

Amazing, different, welcoming

What has been your favorite class so far (title and professor)? How did it expand your knowledge?

My favorite was Econometrics and Economic Statistics with Professor Zhaochen He and Calculus with Professor Sweta Suryanarayan. Econometrics and Stats helped me improve my Excel and data-reading skills through the assignments over the course, and Math 131 helped me develop some calculus skills and apply it to my economics classes.

What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?

One of the main reasons I decided to come to Lewis & Clark is because of the Admissions Office. They were very welcoming and helpful, and made sure I knew what the college had to offer when I visited as a prospective student. They also provided me with information about financial aid and scholarships.

Why did you choose to work as an admissions fellow?

I have worked as an admissions fellow and student assistant for two years. I gained knowledge about admissions work and made great connections with the senior advisors and staff. There is nothing like walking into a work environment where everyone is happy to see you.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

Griswold Stadium and the reflecting pool.

What’s your favorite thing about living in Portland?

The food carts.

What’s your best Lewis & Clark memory so far?

Meeting my best friends at Lewis & Clark, and being able to study abroad in Australia.

How do you manage stress?

I manage stress by playing soccer with friends, going to the gym, or dancing to some Ethiopian music.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

I highly encourage anyone that considers applying to Lewis & Clark to visit our campus, because it will play an important role in making your college decision. If you visit, you will definitely be seeing me and many other welcoming faces.

How has Lewis & Clark changed you?

Lewis & Clark has helped me learn more about myself and what I want to do in the future, and also gain diverse cultural experiences by making new friends and participating in different student clubs.
