Two Lewis & Clark student groups each won $10,000 awards as part of this year’s
100 Projects for Peace initiative sponsored by the family of Katheryn Wasserman Davis. This is the first time that Lewis & Clark College students have won two of the awards in the national competition.

Called a “true Renaissance man,” Ethan Allred ’12 is the winner of the 2012
Rena J. Ratte Award, the undergraduate college’s highest academic honor. The award recognizes excellence in scholastic, intellectual, and creative achievements, and is presented during the undergraduate Honors Convocation ceremony preceding commencement in May.

Anselm Strauss Award for outstanding research on family therapy.

Tadhg Fendt ’14 has become the first student from Lewis & Clark’s Russian Program to receive a
Boren Scholarship. The award will support Fendt’s language study abroad.

Kali Harper ’10 has been awarded a Pickering Fellowship for graduate study in international affairs. The
history major will complete her master’s degree in international relations and security at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.

Upon the recommendation of the continuing holders of Pamplin chairs—professors Curtis Johnson, Janis Lochner, and Arthur O’Sullivan—President Barry Glassner has named David Campion the Pamplin Associate Professor of History.
