his past year, Dennis taught at Southridge High School, where he learned to teach one of the most innovative math curricula available on the market today.

Fifteen years ago, Dennis Chang graduated from MIT, where he played three seasons of varsity soccer in addition to majoring in chemical engineering and minoring in psychology. Dennis went on to pursue a master’s degree, also in chemical engineering, from UCLA, and from there, embarked on a winding career path in the fields of environmental consulting and high-tech engineering. In 2006, Dennis decided to take a break from the private sector and resigned his position at Intel in order to be a stay-at-home dad for his son, Calvin. It was during this period of re-evaluation and self-assessment that teaching called his name.

His search for a math-specific teacher preparation program led him to Lewis & Clark. This past year, Dennis taught at Southridge High School, where he learned to teach one of the most innovative math curricula available on the market today. He is an inquisitive person that seeks challenge and questions the status quo. He is also a thoughtful educator who strives to be positive, fair, and demanding.
