The Year of Study in Munich is a two-semester study abroad program which was established by Lewis & Clark College at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in 1972. The program was one of the first full-year programs of its kind in the Pacific Northwest and it is accredited by the University of Munich.
Founded in 1472, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München is considered one of the finest schools in Germany. Its department of German is the largest in the world and because Munich is a center of art, learning, and culture, the city offers extensive opportunities for American students.

The famous flyers of Hans and Sophie Scholl built in stone at the University of Munich to commemorate the members of the White Rose.
During their year in Munich, students take courses, participate in internships, travel through Germany and Europe, meet interesting people, and grow academically as well as personally.
This Website provides information about the program, including an academic calendar, information about faculty and staff, a photo gallery, an alumni network, and much more. Click here to download the Munich Handbook in pdf format.
