New Media
Project Prioritization
As New Media affects the flow of so much information and content with continued growth expected, how we spend our time is very important to the community. Our limited time is allocated in the following fashion:
- server emergencies (infrastructure)
- serious bugs or failures (infrastructure and/or applications)
- content assistance
- design, applications and training
- consulting projects
When possible, we attempt to use automation to help editors own their own content and update it, and will often invest additional time up front to encourage long-term time savings for us, and more control over content for our editors. In proverb terms: we prefer to teach you to fish than give you one.
We do of course deal with bugs as quickly as possible, so some issues in our Pivotal projects will move out of sequence. And, all of this is subject to daily needs, since we constantly help individual editors with their LiveWhale needs while maintaining or upgrading our five servers.
So, we try to be realistic when we talk to you about your project, but due to the varying nature of emergent tasks that appear on our daily list, due dates may need to shift. We will keep you informed of progress as we do, and appreciate your patience greatly.
