May 5th, 2012

  • Image preview 4:00pm: Baccalaureate Celebration
    Seniors, their families and friends, and the wider Lewis & Clark community are all invited to attend this spiritually inclusive event.  The 2012 Baccalaureate will feature student reflections and performances of song, music, and dance along with prayers and an inspirational keynote speech by Juli Fulks.  There will be 22 seniors participating in this uplifting celebration of their Lewis & Clark experiences of “Learning, Living, Loving, Leaving.”

    Our monthly Taize Prayer Service will take place on Friday, May 4th at 7:30 PM in the South Campus Chapel.

April 8th, 2012

  • Image preview 11:00am: Easter Worship Service
    Come celebrate Easter morning with worship led by Dean of the Chapel Mark Duntley. Special music features a vocal duet from Handel’s Messiah with soprano Courtney Williams and alto Sarah Gottlieb along with our wonderful Casavant organ played by organist Brandon Becker.  There will be a coffee, pastry and fruit reception before the service from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM in the Diane Gregg Memorial Pavilion.

    Our monthly Taize Prayer Service will take place on Friday, April 6th at 7:30 PM in the South Campus Chapel.

  • Image preview 12:30pm: Good Friday Prayer & Meditation Service
    This Good Friday prayer and meditation service features readings from the Gospel of Mark about the arrest, trial, and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.  There will be time for silent meditation and reflection, and singing of the Good Friday hymn “Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?”

  • Image preview 7:00pm: Shake Hands with the Devil: A film about the Rwanda Genocide
    Rwanda Remembrance Day Screening of the film about the Rwanda genocide “Shake Hands with the Devil.” This film is based on Lieutenant-General Romeo Dallaire’s account of the horrific events that ravaged this beautiful African country in 1994.  There will be remarks by LC students Kelvine Ngerero and Matthew Rugamba, both from Rwanda. Held in the Council Chamber.

    Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, traditionally a special period of 40 days of reflection and spiritual preparation as Christians prepare for Good Friday and Easter.  Sr. Loretta Schaff and Rev. Mark Duntley will lead this brief and simple service.

    A memorial service for Paul Epain is scheduled for this Friday, February 10th at 4 PM in Agnes Flanagan Chapel, and it will be followed by a reception in the Gregg Pavilion.

  • Image preview 12:00pm: Faces of Israel Film & Discussion
    Lewis & Clark hosts renowned film maker and educator Amy Beth Oppenheimer as she screens and discusses her film “Faces of Israel,” a provocative film on Israeli democracy today.  The event is in the Council Chamber in Templeton Campus Center and is free to the LC community and open to the public.

    A memorial service and celebration of life for Fred Fields will be held in Agnes Flanagan Chapel at 2 PM on Saturday, January 21st.
