TH&A file

7.1 The committee met in a 60 person classroom still in the last stages of construction. The following facts were noted:
* (2) 10’ long screens [screen width actually 8’-0” per Patrick]
* (2) 60 person classrooms share one projection booth.
* Set up is for 2 video projectors although only one will be installed at the outset. Distance learning is a possible function for these rooms.
* Fixed tables will be installed with loose seats.
* Steps are 6” high, 4’-9” wide.
* Steps are radiused.
* Floor is concrete slab.
* Lighting will be pendant mounted with some cans.
* The room is entered at the rear and steps down. Ramps allow wheelchair access.
* Acoustic wall panels line the rear of the room.
* Teaching wall has a central 16’ marker board flanked by (2) 6’-0” boards.
* The teaching wall has a high level window and will have black out shades.
* There is a central aisle in the room.

7.2 The committee moved to a classroom with fixed tables and movable seats. The following facts were noted:
* The rear step was 12” high, the lower step was 6” high. The steps were 4’-9” wide. The center teaching area was 6” higher than the first tier of seating.
* The movable seats allowed multiple seating options.
* The table was 18” wide.

7.3 The committee visited a classroom in Edmons with fixed tables and fixed seats. The following facts were noted:
* Fixed seats and tables.
* The steps were 6-1/2” high and 4’-0” deep.
* 42 seats.
* Seats were somewhat noisy.
* Seats were not as versatile as moveable seats.

7.4 The following decisions were made:
* In stepped classrooms current configuration of steps at 4’-6” wide, 7” high is acceptable.
* Design to show fixed tables and movable seats.
* Marker boards to have map rails and clips.
* Phone to be mounted on side of AV cabinet.
* Clock to be mounted on side wall of classrooms, over doors wherever possible.

7.5 The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday September 25th. This date and the location may be subject to change.
