The Environmental Framework Plan

Over the years, Lewis & Clark College has been investing time and money into environmental protection measures. Most of our efforts have been in response to local legislation and to student efforts to reduce our campus’ environmental footprint. However, these measures have been disjointed and have not addressed our problems in a comprehensive, campus-wide manner. Because of this we plan to incorporate our environmental efforts into Lewis & Clark’s master plan for campus development, which will be renewed in 2008. By creating these plans we can more effectively address environmental problems on all three of our campuses.

We mean to involve students in its planning and implementation by promoting our campus as a laboratory for learning. By doing this, Lewis & Clark will pave the way for a new strategy of environmental protection, one that, through it’s proactive approach, will successfully address the sustainability of our college.
