The Lewis & Clark College Tree Walk in Memory of Dr. Evan T. Williams

History of the Walk

In 1990, two Lewis & Clark College students wrote A Natural History Guide to the Lewis & Clark College Campus for the campus community and its visitors which included a Tree Walk featuring 48 species of trees. Over the last decade, the forces of entropy have taken their toll on the Walk. The College proposes to repair and reconstitute the Walk to elevate its educational and aesthetic value.

Dr. Evan T. Williams was a beloved chemistry professor and the founder and chair of the environmental studies program at Lewis & Clark College. Dr. Williams helped countless students as an advisor, professor, and mentor. It was his leadership and passion for the Tree Walk that guided the project in the past and will guide it into the future. The College is pleased to implement and name the revitalized Tree Walk in memory of his service and success.

Please join the effort to install a new Tree Walk in Dr. Williams' memory at Lewis & Clark College by making a gift.
