Presenting Lewis & Clark’s Newest Residence Hall:

Edna L. Holmes 

This year, in conjunction with our master plan, we have begun the construction of Lewis & Clark’s newest and most modern residence hall, Edna L. Holmes.  Located at the southern end of the undergraduate campus, Holmes Residence Hall is slated to open in fall 2012.The building will accommodate nearly 170 students with a variety of features that include a bicycle storage room,outdoor fireplace, storm-water management system, and energy reduction technology, just to name a few. Built upon our commitment to stewardship and sustainable practices, Holmes is on track to receive a LEED gold rating.

Weekly Construction Update 05/14/12

Holmes Hall Construction Schedule

Drywall subs have completed hanging and taping the 1^st level.  The painters  are currently on that level prepping and painting.  Tile subs are on the 2^nd level wrapping up their tile/grout in the bathrooms and will be moving on to the 1^st level baths and 2^nd level common spaces soon.  Flooring subs just installed carpet on the 2^nd level units and will be following shortly with corridors and common areas.  The elevator contractors are installing their elevator rails in preparation for the cab.  Permanent power was pulled by PGE yesterday so the electricians are busy turning on panels and trimming out the 3^rd and 4^th levels.  Other MEP (Mechanical, electrical and plumbing) subcontractors are on the 3^rd and 4^th levels wrapping up their finishes also. 

On the exterior, the excavators and concrete subs are busy finalizing the last little bit of concrete on the NW side of the site and getting ready for the trash enclosure footings & walls.
