Who do I call when there is a maintenance emergency?

During office hours (7:30 am – 5:00 pm) please call Facilities Services at x7845. After 5:00 pm or on weekends call Campus Safety at x7855. A Work Order will still need to be submitted but the situation will be taken care of immediately.

I live in a residence hall – who do I contact to obtain maintenance or repair services?

All Work Orders for repairs or maintenance in residence halls must be submitted by your Area Director. We do not accept Work Orders via telephone. If it is an emergency, call x7845, otherwise contact your Resident Advisor who will then inform the Area Director. The latter will complete a Work Order for the issue.

Who cleans my building and how often is it scheduled?

The college has a janitorial contract with Skyline Building Maintenance. Custodial staff is assigned to each academic, residence hall and administrative building on campus.

Residence halls are cleaned during the day, everyday Monday-Friday. Common areas only are cleaned in these buildings.

Administrative, academic and support buildings are cleaned during the evening, everyday Sunday-Thursday. All areas of these buildings are cleaned except restricted access rooms.

There is also a day porter on duty Saturday and Sunday to service specified buildings on campus.

How do we get our carpets cleaned, floors waxed, or upholstery cleaned?

If a specific area in your building needs this type of service, please submit a Work Order. The request will be routed to Housekeeping for processing.

For students, notify your Resident Advisor who will notify your Area Director for a Work Order.

How do I get tables and chairs for a special event?

All events on campus are scheduled through Campus Events at x7235 or at events@lclark.edu. Campus Events notifies the Facilities Services Events Preparation staff of the needs for each event, including set-up design, chairs, tables, trash & recycling containers, etc. All requirements are delivered and set-up prior to the event. If you have last minute needs or changes, please contact Campus Events and they will notify the Events Preparation staff.

Who replaces burned out lights?

The custodial staff replaces burned out lights except when the lights are too high.  In these cases a staff member from Facilities Services is assigned the job. If you have a bulb that needs to be replaced, please submit a Work Order through LC Works. If you are completely in the dark, please call x7845 or Campus Safety at x7855 if it is after hours. Students: notify your Resident Advisor who will notify your Area Director for a Work Order.

Who maintains the temperature in my building?

A professional team of engineers, control engineers and plumbers maintain the temperatures in all campus buildings through a sophisticated electronic energy management control system.

Who do I call if it is too hot/too cold?

The heating and cooling system operates using a set point system. The winter set point temperature is 68 degrees and the summer set point is 78 degrees (plus or minus 2 degrees). If the temperature in your area is outside of the 2 degree difference, please submit a Work Order and the engineering staff will investigate. The seasonal switch between the two set points is dictated by weather conditions. Therefore, if there is an unseasonably warm day in early spring the set point will not change over to summer temperature until the weather is consistently in that temperature range. The reverse is true in the winter.

What should I do if I want office furniture moved or adjusted?

A Work Order needs to be submitted if office furniture needs to be moved or adjusted. The Work Order is then assigned to the Events Preparation staff for action.

Who is responsible for dumpsters?

The College has a contract with Trashco for all trash and dumpster pick-ups on campus. Trash and recycling is picked up on a regular schedule with additional pick ups scheduled on an as-needed basis.

How do I request services from Facilities Services?

For faculty and staff, use LC Works to submit your Work Orders online. For help completing the online process, please see the Work Order Help Sheet. Students are required to contact their RA or AD to place a Work Order.

Who do I call about pest control?

If you are experiencing an infestation of insects/pests, please notify your Area Director as soon as possible. Facilities Services has a contracted pest control expert on call and service will be scheduled as soon as the Work Order is received.

How do I check the status of a Work Order I submitted?

After you log into LCWorks, click “Work Order Search” in the left-hand menu. Next, click the “Search” button at the bottom of the page. This will take you to a page that shows all the Work Orders you have submitted. There you can check the status of your Work Order. If you have specific questions concerning a Work Order, please call x7845.

I lost my keys. What do I do?

If you are a student, contact your Area Director to submit a Work Order for key replacement and/or changing your door locks. A fee is assessed through Campus Living for lost keys. For other lost keys, a Work Order must also be submitted through the appropriate department staff assigned that responsibility. The College has a full-time locksmith on campus. If keys are lost during non-work hours, please contact Campus Safety at x7855. For problems relating to card key access, contact Campus Safety first to verify that your card is working correctly. If it is the card reader that is not working, contact your AD or Campus Safety to submit a Work Order. For faculty or staff, submit a Work Order for lost keys.
