1: TCK Tuesday: The very first TCK Tuesday of the year! Come and meet fellow TCKs and enjoy some amazing cheesecake! At 6:30pm in Maggies Cafe.

11: Friday Dinner Trip to Mio Sushi: Take the 4:40pm shuttle downtown to eat some delicious Japanese food together! If you are new you'll love seeing 23rd Avenue, one of the most popular places in Portland.

17: Speaking of Diversity: Join us for a discussion about "Self-Segregation at Lewis & Clark" in room 235B in Templeton at 7pm! This is part of a series of discussions throughout the semester for students to meet and talk freely about issues regarding diversity on campus. Food will be provided!

24: TCK Thursday: Ever played Texas Hold'em Poker? If not, this is the time to learn as we deck it out using M&M's as playing chips! At 7pm in Maggies Cafe.

2-4: Econvergence:This October, a group of internationally known speakers headed by Noam Chomsky will join academics, activists, and visionary thinkers from the Northwest region in Portland, Oregon to explore the way forward out of the current economic and ecological crises. The gathering will take place in downtown Portland at the First Unitarian Church, whose ministries have a long history of aiding campaigns promoting social justice and environmental preservation, and at nearby Portland State University. 8: Movies & Popcorn: We'll be meeting up in Bodine 300 at 8pm to watch a movie of your choice while consuming a lot of popcorn! You know there's nothing better to do during fall break.

13: Grad School Workshop: Adonica Devault, one of the amazing career advisers at Lewis & Clark, will be talking to us about how to get into Grad Schools in the U.S. Everything from writing personal statements to getting recommendations will be covered, so if you are thinking of Grad School you don't want to miss this! At 6pm in Howard 121.

15: TCK Thursday: Come relax and learn some Origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding! At 7pm in Maggies Cafe.

21: Homecoming Ice Cream Social with the Athletes: Enjoy all sorts of ice cream (with lots of toppings too) this Wednesday night at 7pm with the athletes at Lewis & Clark! Coach Phil, one of the football coaches, will be joining us to explain what Homecoming is all about in case you haven't experienced that part of American culture! That's 7pm in Thayer this Wednesday.

24:  TCK Presentation at Region 1 NAFSA Conference in Vancouver, WA:  TCKs Melanie Rama (Switzerland), Daniel Bae (South Korea), and Ray Terhune (USA) will speak on "Utilizing TCKs to Internationalize Your Campus."

29: TCK Thursday: Come and carve your very own pumpkin for this year's Halloween! Drop by anytime between 7-9pm in Platt/Howard main lounge to pick a pumpkin as well as some sweets!

November

4-6: TCK Interview Session: Dottie Wiegel, a doctoral student at the University of South Carolina, will be interviewing several TCKs on their experiences abroad and at Lewis & Clark. If you are interested, please email the Intern at tck@lclark.edu!

5: TCK Thursday: Meet Dottie Wiegel and learn about her research! There will also be some awesome cheesecake awaiting your taste buds.

7: Freshman TCK "Mini-golf" Event: All freshmen TCKs are invited to come along as we make a trip to Portland's "Glowing Greens" Mini-golf! Afterwards, we will also be eating dinner together at a local Lebanese restaurant called Habibi's, so if you're a freshmen you really don't want to miss this opportunity to meet your fellow classmates! Meet this Saturday at 3pm by the bus stop if you're interested!

11-13: Multicultural Symposium: Make sure to check out all the multicultural events happening this week during our annual Ray Warren's Multicultural Symposium! There is one panel in particular that will happen this Friday at 3:30pm about the issue of nationalities in an ever multicultural world, an issue many TCKs have to deal with, so make sure you attend that if you can! 26: Thanksgiving Dinner: If you are going to be around Portland during Thanksgiving, make sure you RSVP for the Thanksgiving dinner for International students/TCKs! We'll be providing homemade turkey with gravy, along with mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce etc. to make sure your stomach is happy this Thanksgiving!
