About the Ombudsperson

The Ombuds Office is staffed by Valerie Craigwell White who was trained by the International Ombudsman Association (IOA). As a member of that organization, she is guided by the the IOA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics in working as an ombuds at Lewis & Clark College. Valerie has extensive professional experience in working with people who struggle with workplace challenges.

In addition to her previous work at Lewis & Clark where she has both taught and served in administrative positions, Valerie has coached individuals and consulted with a variety of organizations interested in working more effectively. She also brings expertise in working with the influence of culture perspectives in lives and workplaces, both in the US and internationally.
