Ombuds Office news=chance for free iTunes

Ombuds Office news=chance for free iTunes

Some of you already know there’s an Ombuds Office where you can come to talk confidentially about challenges you have so you can get things back on track.  The Ombuds Office was created in March of 2008 as a pilot program, with the intention of providing another communication channel–this one, informal–for students, faculty, and staff.  Last year I worked with almost 400 people from all three schools and Common Services, and even some parents and neighbors.  People come to talk about a variety of things, and sometimes need help finding particular resources.

This year I’ve added a Facebook page I hope you’ll visit from time to time.  There’s also a website with lots more information, including a pretty extensive list of books that you might find helpful.  I hope you’ll check it out, or give me a call to see how I can help you.

So here’s how you can have a chance at winning a $10 iTunes certificate:  go to the Facebook page or website, and find out something you didn’t know about how to talk with someone who can be hard to talk to.

Drop me an email (valeriew@lclark.edu or ombuds@lclark.edu) and write a sentence or two about what you learned.  I’ll then enter your name in the hat for one of the 6 iTunes certificates I’ll draw the first week in December.  Be sure to include your contact info so I can let you know if you’re a winner.

In the meantime, have a great holiday season.

Warmly,

Valerie White
