Student Health Insurance Information
Lewis & Clark requires that all degree seeking and visiting, Undergraduate and Law students have medical insurance coverage comparable to that offered through the school's comprehensive Student Health Insurance Plan. Students at the Graduate School of Education and Counseling may voluntarily enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan. Students do not need to enroll in the school-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan to access services at the Student Health Center. Many services at the Student Health Center are provided at no charge to students.
Lewis & Clark, in partnership with USI Northwest, has selected Aetna Student Health to be administrators of the Student Health Insurance Plan, which is underwritten by the Aetna Life Insurance Company. Please visit the Aetna Student Health website through the link below for complete information on benefits and enrollment for students and dependents, as well as major medical coverage. You'll want to register for Aetna Navigator which will help you keep track of your claims, print out a temporary identification card and more. Aetna Student Health also provides a Customer Service number just for Lewis & Clark students. If you have questions call their toll-free number, 1-877-375-7911.
AETNA STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE INFORMATION
UNDERGRADUATE AND LAW STUDENTS: Lewis & Clark College requires that all degree seeking and visiting, Undergraduate and Law students have medical insurance coverage comparable to that offered through the school's comprehensive Student Health Insurance Plan. Students are afforded one opportunity in each academic year to waive the school's coverage. For students eligible to submit a waiver in the spring semester, the deadline is February 2, 2010. The premium for the school's insurance is charged in two installments, one for the Fall term and one for the Spring term. If students do not submit an annual health insurance waiver, they will be automatically enrolled in coverage through the Student Health Insurance Plan. For eligible students, information regarding the submission of the online insurance waiver, and the associated deadline, will be enclosed with the first billing statement of the semester.
GRADUATE STUDENTS: Enrollment in the Student Health Insurance Plan is voluntary for Graduate students throughout the academic year. See Graduate Student Summary of Benefits for information about benefits and coverage. The 09/10 deadlines for voluntary enrollment are:
- Fall, 10/2/09
- Spring, 2/11/10
- Summer, 7/9/10
SUMMER ENROLLMENT: Enrolling in summer semester insurance coverage is voluntary for all Graduate, Law and Undergraduate students. See the online enrollment link here.
If you waive the school’s coverage, and subsequently lose your private insurance coverage, you are required to enroll in the College’s Student Health Insurance Plan. Please contact Student and Departmental Account Services to rescind your waiver and enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan.
