Professor Hessler is bringing the Clinic to the next level by taking on larger cases focusing on law reform with respect to animal issues. Professor Hessler will begin teaching the Clinic January 1, 2009. Clinical Professor and Staff Attorney, Jami Pannell will continue to teach the Clinic in Fall '08.

Animal Law Clinic

The Animal Law Clinic serves as a resource for students, professors, attorneys, organizations, media, and individual clients.

The Animal Law Clinic represents and advises clients on Oregon matters. We specialize in animal protection issues including cases against those who have harmed or injured animals, custody disputes, activist defense, "dangerous" dog hearings, pet trusts, and assistance for non-profit organizations.

The Animal Law Clinic also assists organizations and attorneys involved in animal protection litigation, legislation, and policy work as well as researches and analyzes developments in animal protection law.

As the only year-long clinic dedicated to animal protection issues, the Animal Law Clinic at Lewis & Clark Law School provides unique and rewarding clinical experience for students. Through the Clinic students develop their litigation, negotiation, drafting, and advocacy skills while gaining real-world experience.
