SPECIAL EVENT: Reception for Broadsides Exhibit Thursday, August 22, 2002 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Watzek Library

You are cordially invited to a reception in the early evening of Thursday 22nd August, to view the exhibit at the Watzek Library of broadside poems on loan from the Friends of William Stafford. A small number of the poets represented in the exhibit will be on hand to read briefly from their work. The exhibit, titled For My Friends: Broadsides by Contemporary American Poets, will be on show from August 1st to September 15th, and will include poems by William Stafford and many of his friends, associates, and colleagues, including Vern Rutsala, Kim Stafford, Robert Bly, Carlos Reyes, Naomi Shihab Nye, Marvin Bell, Paulann Petersen, Richard Hugo, Vi Gale, Primus St John, and Ursula LeGuin. The exhibit will be on display outside the Heritage Room, and the reception, from 6:00 to 8:00 on Thursday 22nd August, will take place in the foyer of the Watzek Library. Please join us for this late summer celebration of the art of the small press movement, including the fine work of papermakers, typographers, and illustrators, in addition to that of the poets themselves.
