Katherine Cramer Walsh is an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science, University of Wisconsin. Her primary research and teaching interests include public opinion, political communication, and civic engagement. Her forthcoming book, Talking about Politics: Informal Groups and Social Identity in American Life used participant observation and analysis of national sample survey data to investigate the way people clarify social identity and make sense of politics through casual interaction. She is currently a member of the American Political Science Association's Task Force on Civic Education and Civic Engagement.
