Since its founding in 1984, the Portland Baroque Orchestra has earned a reputation as one of the finest period instrument ensembles in the country. PBO has attracted musicians and guest conductors from all over the world and has won acclaim from audiences, critics, and musicians alike. In 1993 and again in 1994, PBO was selected to present its annual production of Handel's "Messiah" to a national audience through live broadcasts on National Public Radio, the first such broadcasts of any orchestra in several years.

This 20th annual Messiah features guest director Richard Egarr with the PBO Chorus and four exciting soloists: Sharon Baker, Soprano; Elizabeth Shammash, Mezzo-Soprano; William Hite, Tenor; and Thomas Meglioranza, Bass.

50 reduced-price tickets for each concert are available only in the College Bookstore to the Lewis and Clark community. $10 Lewis & Clark students/ $12 Lewis & Clark employees and alumni.
