Remember, you should contact SAAB members as soon as possible to read your grant, provide suggestions, and then sign your grant.
SAAB members are not obligated to sign grants that are not meritorious. You should expect to make some revisions before your grant is reviewed by the Board.
If you contact Board members the day before a deadline, you are unlikely to procure a signature. You should also have your project advisor thoroughly review your grant for guidance.
Conference Applications, Visiting Scholar Applications, and Equipment Requests are funded on a rolling basis throughout the semester and are due at 5:00pm on Wednesday to be reviewed the following week. Weekly SAAB meetings are held on Thursdays at 6:00pm in JR Howard Hall room 124.
Arts Expression and Research applications are reviewed once a semester, respectively. The deadlines are as follows for the Fall 2007 semester:
-Arts Expression Grants: November 7th, 2007 at 4:00 PM.
-Research Grants: October 24th, 2007 at 4:00 PM.
Upon submitting their paperwork, applicants will be notified by email with further details.
Applicants can expect to give a presentation to the board about their grant. Presentations are very important, you should prepare in advance and take it seriously.
Note: There are no exceptions granted for due dates—plan ahead! Applications must have ALL required elements in order to be heard by the board. Make sure to contact SAAB members in advance in order to procure a signature for your grant. Contact a SAAB officer or your department representative if you have questions!
If you would like more information about the grant program, please feel free to view an application (available on the right hand side of this screen). All applications are in .pdf format.
