Tim Mechlinski

Tim Mechlinski has recently joined the Lewis & Clark faculty in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of California--Santa Barbara in 2007.

Tim’s recent research focuses on border enforcement, transportation, and migration in West Africa, where he has lived and researched for 3 years, initially as a Peace Corps Volunteer.

His research and teaching interests are in Third World Studies, international migration and borders, contemporary African societies, and research methods.
