Paul Merchant

British-born Paul Merchant taught at Warwick University, England, between 1973 and 1989.

For the last ten years he has been director of the William Stafford Archives in Portland. He is the author of four poetry collections (Bone from a Stag's Heart was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation, and his latest collection Some Business of Affinity was a finalist for this year's Oregon Book Awards) and three books of translation from modern Greek.

He is currently Special Collections Associate at Lewis & Clark College's Watzek Library.
