PE/A 101-01 and 101-02: Yoga (Summer Intensive)

Taught by: Susan Lilly

Content: Yoga class assumes a non-competitive atmosphere in which each student works on breathing, concentration, and flexibility. Classical yoga poses, meditation, and breathing techniques are interspersed with relaxation periods, and a ten minute complete relaxation at the end of each class.

Prerequisite: None.

PE/A 101-12: Sailing

Taught by: Richard Hammerstrom

Content: May include aerobics, step aerobics, badminton, ballroom dancing,basketball, bowling, country and western dance, cross training, cycling,fitness walking, golf, Frisbee golf, jogging, lifeguard training, martial arts, rowing, sailing, scuba diving, skiing/snowboarding, soccer, softball, speed and agility, strength and conditioning, swimfitness, swimming, tennis, triathlon training, Ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, water safety instruction, weight training, women's self-defense, yoga. Focus on principles of physical fitness such as safe techniques, conditioning activities, principles of movement, importance of lifetime fitness. Student participation and attendance emphasized.
