Our schedule for the program is listed in the right sidebar but for a detailed look, you might want to check out the final schedule here. We look forward to your participation in this year's program.

2008 Program Highlights

Performances. Romance and the Guitar. Scott Kritzer, a long standing Portland guitarist with international recognition, will be performing a program featuring some of the most brilliant works and arrangements from his upcoming album, Romance and the Guitar. Kritzer's playing is known for it's wide range of color, expression and intense lyricism. David Stabler of The Oregonian was quoted, "Kritzer's lyricism was golden. He refused to rush, letting the solo phrases hang deliciously in the air. Would that more musicians had his courage." Special ticket price: $5/L&C Community, available from the College Bookstore (503-768-7885) or at the door. Evans Auditorium

Sporting Events. Throughout the weekend, we hope you will take advantage of the sports activities scheduled on campus, including Men's Tennis , Women's Tennis and Women's Softball.

Take A Walk! Choose from two lovely destinations, both within minutes of campus - Bishop's Close or the Berry Botanical Garden.

Discover a well-hidden jewel just minutes from the Lewis & Clark campus. This is a great chance to see the beauty of the Portland area! Bishop’s Close is a historic 13-acre estate tucked onto a high bluff above the Willamette River, about a mile from campus. Its grounds include a spectacular six-acre garden, designed by the New York firm that built New York City’s Central Park, and a 1916 mansion now used as headquarters for the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon. The gardens are open to the public, and thankfully so; their beauty is exceptional, with multiple varieties of magnolias and other native plants, in addition to wonderful views of the river, the rolling hills east of Portland, and Mt. Hood in the distance.

Just a few minutes’ drive from campus is an organization whose mission is plant conservation. Learn about stewardship of our landscape using the Berry Botanical Garden to demonstrate sustainable gardening practices appropriate to our region. Plants from around the world mingle in this garden with those of the Pacific Northwest. Stroll the native plant trail and learn about gardening for wildlife. The largest public rock garden on the West coast is here, too. See uncommon trees, primulas, rhododendrons and more. A volunteer guide from the Berry Botanical Garden will be taking our group on this tour.

Each group will depart from Templeton Campus Center just outside Fields Dining Room at 12:00pm on Saturday afternoon, March 1. You'll return to campus in time to participate in the International Fair Talent Show at 2pm.

Sign up by phone with the College Outdoors Office, 503-768-7116; $5/$10 per person to participate and the fees will be donated to the respective Gardens.
