As a whole, Lewis & Clark College is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. The Law School is also accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools. The education and counseling psychology programs in the Graduate School of Education and Counseling are approved and accredited by appropriate associations and agencies, including the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, the National Association of School Psychologists, the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, and the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. In addition, the programs of some individual departments in the College of Arts and Sciences are reviewed separately, e.g., the chemistry department by the American Chemical Society.
