3.11.7 Leave for Jury Duty and Court Appearances

Leave with full pay and benefits is granted for qualified jury duty. Colleagues may be asked to cover a faculty member’s courses and office hours during a short-term leave. For longer-term leaves, the College will make arrangements to cover essential teaching duties. Because of the impact on the educational mission of the College, faculty are encouraged to defer jury duty to times which do not conflict with their teaching duties. When deemed necessary, the College may request that a faculty member be excused from jury duty due to a bona fide hardship.
