Transportation in the
Portland Metro Area

The Portland airport is located approximately 9 miles north of the downtown area. There are a number of options for getting to and from Portland's city center.

MAX LIGHT RAIL:

The Max Red Line runs every 15 minutes to the city center and the fare is $1.60 one way. Get off at the Pioneer Courthouse Square stop at 6th and Morrison. The hotel is located two blocks south of the square, on the west side of SW Sixth Avenue. Travel time is approximately 40 minutes.

Tri-Met operates the Max train and the regional bus system. The agency's site provides schedule and fare information.

Another regional transit system, the Portland Streetcar, is an inexpensive and easy way to get around the downtown area.

CABS AND TOWN CARS:

Broadway Cab: 503-227-1234. The company charges $1.80 mile (after the initial meter charge of $2.50). One way will cost about $30.00.

Green Cab: 503-234-1414. Metered cabs cost approximately $30.00 from the airport to downtown. The minivan shuttle is non-metered, costs $20, and requires a day's notice for pickup.

BY CAR:

From the airport get on I-205 heading south, then take the I-84 freeway west toward the city center. At the point where I-84 connects to I-5 South, look for signs to the city center. Take the Morrison Bridge exit. Drive west on SW Washington to SW Broadway. Turn left on Broadway and drive south past Pioneer Courthouse Square. Turn left on SW Salmon, then another quick left onto SW Sixth. The hotel is located at 921 SW Sixth Avenue.
