Summary of Contents: • The four choices you have when interacting with people and the overall strategy to be successful with people • The lens of understanding – why do people act the way they do, what causes them to be stressed out • Basic training: the communication skills you unconsciously use when effective communication is naturally happening • A walk on the wild side: strategies for the ten stress behaviors • Sniping: sarcasm, distractions, sabotage, to your face or behind your back • Know-it-all behavior: when people don't listen, dominate conversations, are condescending • Think-they-know-it-all behavior: when people don’t listen, dominate, act like they know what they are talking about but really don’t • Grenade tantrums: irrational tantrums, explosiveness, volatility • Whining and negativity: everything is wrong, nothing is right, and it’s always that way • Yes and maybe behaviors: people are agreeable on the surface but you don't know where they really stand • Nothing behaviors: when people literally say nothing • Changing your attitude and reactions to people.
