PEAC nominated for National ABA Award
Mar. 28, 2008 -- PEAC is honored to have been nominated for the nationally prestigious ABA Award for Distinguished Achievement in Environmental Law and Policy, awarded by the ABA Standing Committee on Environmental Law.
Professor Irma Russell of the University of Tulsa College of Law, Director of The National Energy-Environment Law & Policy Institute, current chair of the ABA Committee on Global Oil & Gas of the ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources and member of the ABA Standing Committee on Professionalism nominated PEAC, stating:

Victory for Bald Eagles
March 10, 2006 - PEAC won a significant victory for the desert nesting bald eagle, increasing Endangered Species Act protections for the species and its habitat. PEAC's own Dan Rohlf led the case.

A River Runs Through
Feb. 29, 2008 -- PEAC reached satisfactory settlement in a case to protect the flow of the nation's 10th largest river, impacting 16,000 total stream miles and 12,000 square miles of watershed. Partnering with Willamette Riverkeeper and NEDC, the suit targeted the Willamette River's 13 federal dams that have operated for the past 15 years in violation of fish conservation measures required by the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The federal agencies in question have agreed to comply with their ESA obligations, resulting in significant protections for endangered salmon. Read more.
Half the Haze
March 5, 2008 -- PGE-Boardman emits more than half the haze clouding up the Columbia River Gorge, confirmed today by a University of Washington report commissioned by the Yakama tribes. The widely-reported study bolsters PEAC's momentous initiative on behalf of citizen's groups to force Portland General Electric Co. to comply with the Clean Air Act.
