25. Collective Bid – Joining Together in Support of Public Interest
The money raised during the 2008 PILP Auction will fund the work of law students who are awarded a PILP Summer Stipend. Stipends are awarded on a competitive basis to students who wish to do public interest legal work during the summer as part of our mission to encourage and enable law students to pursue public interest careers. PILP also allocates funds to Lewis & Clark Law School’s Loan Repayment Assistance Program.
Each dollar raised in support of the stipend program is heavily leveraged by the public interest organizations hosting PILP stipend recipients, many of which are here Portland. Without your support at tonight’s Auction, these organizations could not afford the support a summer law clerk can provide.
There are 5 levels to the collective bid—you may contribute more than once at any level.
The Auctioneer will ask for contributions in the amounts of $500, $250, $100, $50, and $25. To support public interest, raise your bid paddle when the amount you are willing to contribute is announced.
Please keep your bid paddle in the air until the Auctioneer says your bid number. The amount you indicate will be charged to your bid number account and will be ready for payment at the check-out area.
Thank you for your generous support of public interest law!
