Slide Collection

The Visual Resources Collection of Lewis & Clark College contains 50,000 slides (35mm) of the art and architecture of the world which are divided into two sections: Western Art and Asian Art. Subjects are catalogued according to selected mediums such as architecture, painting, photography, etc. and then divided by time period, culture or country. Slides from pre-historic cave paintings in France to glass orbs by contemporary northwest artist, Dale Chihuly, are available for class presentation by faculty, students and staff. One highlight of the Asian Art section is a strong collection of Buddhist Art slides that supports curriculum for East Asian Studies and Religious Studies.
