Come live in the gorgeous old-growth forest in Oregon’s Cascade Mountains. This area is Oregon’s only remaining large tract of low-elevation rain forest. We’ll stay at a former mining camp in a rustic and spacious bunkhouse that is off the grid and features hydroelectric lighting and composting toilets. Learn about the trees, plants, and animals that live in the endangered forest ecosystem. Expect to hike about six miles a day with daypacks as we discover the trails, ancient groves of trees, natural history, and spectacular swimming holes of this magical spot.
