Lewis & Clark

Recreation

There's more to the Lewis & Clark experience than books— work and play are important to student life. Whether you want to pump iron, swim laps, or relive grade school glory playing kickball, we’ve got you taken care of in the recreation department.

All facilities are open to everyone in the campus community—including faculty, staff, and students at all of Lewis & Clark's schools—during scheduled hours.

Pamplin Sports Center, the main gym, has three full basketball courts that also serve as volleyball courts, and a fully equipped weight room. The Zehntbauer Swimming Pavilion houses an eight-lane, 25-yard indoor pool, and the Eldon Fix Track and Fred Wilson Field are great for runners. Tennis players can play year-round, thanks to the three covered courts inside the Tennis Dome. And on those nice, sunny days, the Estate Pool and Estate Courts offer excellent outdoor tennis and swimming options.

In addition to our varsity sports programs, Pioneer Intramurals offers everything from basketball and indoor soccer to dodgeball and kickball. Our Club Sports program includes activities like Tae Kwon Do, Ultimate Frisbee, table tennis, lacrosse, and sailing.

And for those who wish to venture off-campus, there’s no shortage of outdoor recreation in and around Portland. Lewis & Clark's College Outdoors program is a great way to explore the Pacific Northwest one river, mountain, or forest at a time.
