Held in Agnes Flanagan Chapel at 3 p.m. on May 17th, the Baccalaureate Celebration will also feature Associate Dean of Students and Director of Multicultural Affairs Tricia Brand giving a keynote address titled “There is No Time Like the Present…” This event will also feature the “Dancing Hats” who will play for the last time as seniors here at Lewis & Clark. Students from the Rose City Music Academy present this recital to benefit children in Southeast Portland who have limited access to art & music education. This performance raises awareness for equality in arts education and gets them involved with 2 nonprofit organizations- Music Access Project Portland (MAPP) and Vibe of Portland who are committed to providing arts education to underserved children. Throckmorton Memorial Lecturer. The title of Dr. Levine’s talk is “Improving the Human Race One Gene at a Time: The Curious History of Eugenics in the Twentieth Century.”

The Lewis & Clark Board of Trustees unanimously endorsed the plan on October 26, 2012.To kick off the next phase—implementing the plan—we will formally celebrate the plan’s adoption and launch the implementation process at a community-wide event.
