Wolf Play, which opens March 8 on Lewis & Clark’s Main Stage, is directed by Suhaila Meera, assistant professor of theatre. With the help of a puppet, boxing moves, and wolf pack metaphors, the play explores issues of family, parenting, community, survival, and love.

Lewis & Clark’s Alumni and Parent Engagement office has partnered with Nike to offer Lewis & Clark alumni, faculty, and staff access to the Nike Company Store.

The Office of Equity and Inclusion and Human Resources are excited to announce that we have partnered to enroll our campus in Belong: An Inclusive Learning Community. This is a learning network open to all employees offered on behalf of the Council of Independent Colleges that is intended to increase student and collegial belonging on college campuses. 

Concept submissions spoke to the common theme of a community garden space. In the next phase of the planning process, the College will test the feasibility of design elements submitted by faculty, staff, and students. 

Starting this spring, IT will integrate single sign on and Zoom. This process will also automatically provision Zoom licenses to Lewis & Clark accounts logging into Zoom for the first time. Staff and faculty employees will get Pro Zoom licenses, students will receive basic licenses with the option to request a Pro license.

Last summer, six exempt employees formed a working group to research ways of organizing a Lewis & Clark Staff Council. Exempt staff—unlike faculty and union staff—do not currently have an organized body within the institution to support their work, promote collaboration and communication, and to serve as an advisory body to the Executive Council.

Information Technology is changing the College’s voicemail retention practices in order to reduce storage utilization and the number of full voicemail inboxes. These changes will impact voicemail messages delivered both to your voicemail inbox, as well as your LC email inbox. All messages older than 90 days will be permanently deleted from your LC email inbox and voicemail inbox on April 1, 2024. If you have voicemail messages that you would like to save, please download locally or to another storage location prior to this date.

When the Lewis & Clark community comes together, our strength is unparalleled. Now is the time for us to look ahead and think about how we can best shape our future for continued success. Last semester institutional leadership began developing a new strategic plan and, with the help of a growing circle of faculty and staff, we have made good headway. We are now looking for wider participation in the process.

Grab a free, custom copy of this year’s Everybody Reads title at Watzek Library and Boley Law Library!  In support of Multnomah County Library’s community reading project, copies of Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin are available on campus. Read, reflect, and learn together in online and in-person activities outlined in the accompanying project guide.  Everybody Reads is a community-wide project that promotes shared reading and discussion around a single book. Watzek and Boley will facilitate book discussions in March.
