Invitation to Say Hey event on Nov. 11
October 27, 2009
Hello everyone,
I am forwarding the invitation for November’s Say Hey event - for those of you that have not attended, it is a wonderful networking opportunity as well as a great environment for professionals of color in Portland to come together. The events are welcome to everyone so please don’t be shy about attending yourselves if you can fit it in your calendars.
Best,
Celestino

Say Hey will be a very special and fun event on November 11th. It will be another party to welcome new professionals of color relocating to Oregon or Southwest Washington, but there will also be a couple of special “twists” to make Say Hey a kick-off for the upcoming holidays!
* Say Hey will be “festive and your are encouraged to dress-up and make it a special occasion. Newcomers often report that Oregon is “very casual” and there aren’t many opportunities to dress-up for a special evening. Well, this is your chance! Business (business or business casual is fine for men), ethnic attire, or cocktail attire is optional but encouraged!
* The Multnomah Athletic Club, MAC Ethnic Diversity Committee and Kaiser Permanente are co-sponsoring this event. Many thanks!
* There will be light hor d’oeuvres served and no-host bar (cash only please - credit cards are not accepted and ATM machines are not available at the MAC).

What else you should know about Say Hey:
· Major employers in Oregon & Southwest Washington joined forces as “Partners in Diversity” in 2005 to cooperatively support diversity in the workplace and community. Say Hey was started to honor professionals of color relocating to this area and to help them connect with a multicultural community of fellow professionals, community and professional resources.
· Everyone is welcome to attend Say Hey. It is fun, multicultural, and a great opportunity for newcomers (and those of us who are “not so new”) to enjoy an evening of meeting new friends and learning about what makes our community a great place to live and work. Plan to attend and share this invitation to the quarterly Say Hey reception with others in your networks.
· We are always on the lookout for new professionals of color who have relocated to Oregon or Southwest Washington in the past 18 months or less to introduce and welcome at Say Hey. If you are new or would like to suggest we contact someone new to the area, please contact Vicki Nakashima, Partners in Diversity, nakashimav@mac.com or 503-516-3505
