Campus Update September 13, 2001
Read the September 12th campus update.
In the wake of Tuesday's attack, here are more pieces of information that
may be helpful as we struggle to grasp the enormity of this tragedy and
attempt to define our own personal responses to it.
"Contemplation, Conversation, and Mutual Support"--A Community Gathering at
12 noon in Agnes Flanagan Chapel continues on September 13 (Thursday) to
reflect on the tragic events of Tuesday.
Since President Bush has declared Friday, September 14th "a national day of
prayer and remembrance", the noon session in the Chapel on Friday will
specifically be a time for prayer and remembrance. Please contact Mark
Duntley, Dean of the Chapel, for more information
(x7082/duntley@lclark.edu).
The Center for Service and Work (CSAW) is accepting monetary donations that
will be forwarded to the following agencies. Any checks should be made out
to the American Red Cross, Northwest Medical Teams (who will be sending
doctors and nurses to NY and DC) or to the Salvation Army. Please contact
Kelly Hoover, Coordinator of Student Leadership & Service
(x7076/hoover@lclark.edu)
There will be a blood drive on campus on October 23rd, 11a.m.-4p.m. This
event was already scheduled. Due to overwhelming response, the Red Cross is
unable to come to campus sooner. CSAW will be coordinating appointments one
week prior to the event.
