- I'll post this week's lab data to our web site today. The
outside reading assignment for our HIV-1 unit will probably go
online this weekend, and will be due on Monday, Dec 11th
- Biochem seminar on HIV: Monday Dec 4th, 4 pm (Miller 105): by
Mary Keir, a USCF graduate student and a Lewis & Clark
alumna
Learning objectives for Fri 12/1/00
Students should be able to
- Describe what is meant by the term "viral tropism" in
reference to HIV-1, and how tropism is mediated on a molecular
level
- Explain why some people have unusual resistance to HIV-1
infection, and what this resistance has told us about the process
of infection
- Diagram and explain a current model for HIV-1 attachment and
entry into a host cell
