Discussion of
Shibahara et al
Monday, Nov 27,
2000
Announcements:
- Lab #11 is graded, and a key is online
- Your reading for the next module, on HIV, in now on reserve at
Watzek.
This is the equivalent of your "chapter" reading, since Lodish
doesn't have an appropriate chapter. It should be available online
soon, and meanwhile is available at the Watzek desk. There will
also be an outside research article on HIV, yet to be
assigned.
- Due to limited time and the focus of this particular class,
our HIV module will focus on the molecular biology of the virus
itself, as opposed other topics such as the interaction between
HIV and its human host (how HIV causes AIDS), epidemiology, or
social implications.
- I'm still working on the Week 12&13 lab handout--I'll
email it out tonight. I've divided the two-week lab into 8
separate sections, and each group will be responsible for one
section. We'll have a sign-up on Wednesday.
- I will post a Chapter 12 homework assignment soon (tonight or
tomorrow). It will be due at 5 pm next Monday, Nov 4.
Learning objectives for Mon 11/27/00
