Bio312 Week 11: Student Data

Glutathione Pull-Down Assays and
in vitro transcription/translation trial runs

This week's lab was divided into two different projects: three groups did trial glutatione pull-down assays of GST and GST-Yar1, to see how efficiently and specifically the glutathione-agarose beads bound to each of the two proteins. These assays used cell pellets that were prepared in week 10. The other 5 groups did trial in vitro transcription/translation reactions of their pCITE constructs, to see whether they could produce detectable protein.

The results are posted. As you'll see, the glutathione pull-downs worked well, but the in vitro reactions were less consistent. Accordingly, please make the following revisions to your lab write-up for week 11:
