What computers
are available through the Computer Showroom?
The Computer Showroom, a department of Information Technology,
offers Dell and Apple computers at an educational discount, as well as printers,
software, and other computer equipment. You will receive a flyer in July that
details prices and special back-to-school offers, and instructions on how to
purchase through the Computer Showroom. We recommend that you wait until July to
purchase your computer, but if you prefer to purchase it earlier or have any questions,
feel free to contact the Computer Showroom (503-768-7250) or visit our website.
What
kind of discounts do you offer?
Hardware and software manufacturers determine the extent of
the educational discount available, but the discount usually
ranges from 5% to 20% for hardware, and 20% to 80% for software.
Keep in mind that we are not a for-profit business, but a service
of the College, so markups are intended to cover the cost of
the program only.
Who
is eligible to purchase from the Computer Showroom?
Only Lewis & Clark College departments and current students,
faculty, and staff can purchase from the Computer Showroom.
We also ask that you comply with manufacturers purchasing
agreements. For details, see this page.
How do I purchase
computer equipment and software for my department?
We require that institutional customers send an email to cpp@lclark.edu
listing the item(s) they wish to purchase and the departments
account number. Purchases must be approved by the appropriate
budget director. If you are purchasing software for your department,
you may be able to buy a license at a significant discount.

What
if I want to return a product Ive purchased from the Computer
Showroom?
All sales are final. We realize, however, that a product may
be defective, or there may be other extraordinary circumstances,
and thus a customer may ask for a return. Please see our return
policy for complete information about returning products.
We reserve the right to refuse ALL returns, including returns
for defective or incompatible equipment.
Can
I purchase products I dont see advertised on your website?
We have access to a wide variety of software and hardware
too many to list on our website. If you dont see what
youre looking for, call, email,
or stop by the Computer Showroom. If the product you wish to
purchase is not available, or if its manufacturer does not offer
an educational discount, we will let you know so you can purchase
it elsewhere.
If I buy
my computer through the Computer Showroom, when do I pick it
up?
During New Student Orientation,
the Computer Showroom will be located in the TV Studio in Watzek
Library. You can either pick up your computer there, or you
can stop by, call, or email
to schedule an appointment for delivery to your residence hall
room. If you are arriving on campus early, or live in the Portland
area and wish to pick up your computer before Orientation, please
contact the Computer Showroom. If you purchase a computer during
the school year, you can pick it up at our regular location
in Watzek Library 120.
