help using my computer? What support options are available?
The IT Help Desk, located on the first
floor of Watzek Library provides face-to-face support for all forms
of computer problems. Limited on-site support in the Residence Halls is
available by appointment with the residence hall technician.
E-mail consult for your non-emergency
computing questions.
Once you've determined that your problem is not software or network-related,
we have certified Apple and Dell technicians on staff to facilitate warranty
repairs on computers purchased through the Computer Showroom. Other hardware
repairs will be referred to either the manufacturer or a local computer repair shop.
I bought
a computer from the Computer Showroom, and now Im having
problems. What should I do?
If your computer is still under warranty, we recommend you call
the manufacturer first. Be prepared to provide your computers
serial number or service tag code when you call, and make sure
you get a case number assigned to your call. If you need help
diagnosing your computer problem, contact the Help Desk at x7225
or the Computer Showroom at x7250. We have a limited number
of certified Apple and Dell technicians on staff, available
for warranty work on a first-come, first-served basis. You can
