Residence Halls Construction
General Description:

These state of the art residence halls consist of three separate buildings interconnected with a series of walkways, outdoor plazas, and native plantings.

Amenities include an outdoor lawn recreation circle with half-court basketball, a coffee shop/convenience store, and a copy/print center. The recreation/fitness room includes a pool table, table tennis, foosball, darts, and cardio/resistance training equipment. Common areas/building lounges come equipped with VCR/DVD/cable television, comfortable furniture, and a fireplace.

The residence halls are available with two or four person suites. All four-person suites come complete with a full size kitchen, living room, bathroom(s), and four private bedrooms. The two person suites include kitchenettess and living rooms. All suites come furnished and accessible units are available. Bedroom furniture in all units can be arranged or modified to suit your personal tastes.

The residence halls are designed to provide on-campus housing for junior and senior students in a more apartment-like context with private rooms. Design goals focused on developing a strong sense of community within individual suites and common areas, green building certification (energy conservation, use of sustainable building materials, 95%+ recycling goals), and a data infrastructure to support current and future technology needs.

The "lodge" style residence halls are warm and contemporary as they step down a north facing slope with views across the tree-filled campus. Each of the three buildings has an interior lounge and outside patio space dedicated to its residents. And, West Hall, having approximately 27,000 gross square feet of space, houses 52 students, and includes a Residence Director's apartment. And, Roberts Hall, having approximately 30,000 gross square feet of space, accomodates 56 students and inludes a coffee shop and convenience store that opens to a plaza. The plaza lies between Roberts Hall and East Hall. With aprroxiamtely 32,000 gross square feet of space, East Hall houses 60 students and inclues a student activity space. Construction began in June 2001 and was complete in August 2002.
