Hi. Like my colleagues, I enjoy being a member of the Language Institute "family." We have wonderful faculty and staff, and we all enjoy working with the students who come to study with us. Although the faculty teach many different courses at the language institute, I especially enjoy teaching courses in writing, in intercultural communication, and in ethnic literature (Asian-American). I consider myself a "people person," so I am particularly interested in working with students and colleagues to understand how we, as human beings, can communicate more effectively in order to get along with each other. In terms of my non-teaching interests, I am a singer -- classical music, mostly. I have four children: two daughters and two sons. My second daughter just recently graduated from Lewis and Clark College. When I have free time, I love to work in my garden at home and to take walks with our family dog.
