It was Monday morning in front of the Watzek Library. I was waiting for my friend, so that we could have lunch together. My friend is one of the nicest persons I have ever met in Portland, Oregon. She has long hair, a round face, and a pair of bright eyes, even though she is a little bit chubby and not really tall, maybe about 1.55 meters. While I was waiting for my friend, I could feel the freezing weather cover my skin and a stream of air was puffing over my face. Some people who were smoking near me polluted the air; I could sense the smoke crawling into my system, which made it hard for me to breathe, and suddenly I got a cough. My stomach was snarling, demanding some food because it was lunchtime. The wind was blowing very hard; the sky was gray and overcast. I felt so down because my friend hadn't shown up and I was starving to death. While I was passing the time in the cold and breezy midday, three other friends of mine came slowly to me with their laughing faces and started to make fun of me. Their amusing and "sharp" jokes made me laugh and feel free from suffering from the freezing weather. Suddenly a thunderous voice calling my name shocked me. I was looking to find out who had called my name; the voice sounded so familiar. My eyes were seeking and searching for the person. Finally I found out where the voice came from, that it was from my friend that I had been waiting for for such a long time. She was waving to me and shouting my name from an upstairs window on the right front side of the building in front of me, Bodine. She was wearing a blue, long-sleeved shirt and a T-shirt on the outside, with a pair of jeans. I was very happy and thankful that she had showed up; I told my stomach that we could have some food as soon as possible. I stayed for a while to wait for her coming down from Bodine. She came out of the front door with her pretty smile that made me feel carefree and forget about everything. I walked to her, waved my hand, and said goodbye to my other friends. Her presence made me feel joyful, and the weather suddenly became very warm and lovely for me. |
