Hanbok is a tradition in my country. She is so beautiful and colorful; in my mind Hanbok is a woman. She is like a painting, which is colored from the first flower in spring, and her buttons are a little thick and look like the tears of an angel, which have become solid in the air. You cannot find any sharpness of straight lines from Hanbok. Because of the continuity of her curves, maybe you will feel that bees could not land, but would slide on her. Did you ever hear the sounds of a cricket? If you are walking with Hanbok, wearing her on a special day, you would have an illusion that you are surrounded by many crickets in the middle of a bush because she makes crisp sounds which come from rubbing textiles together. Actually, Hanbok is a musician who sings an irregular song. If you hear her song, you will think that it's from another world. Her crisp sounds have a power which makes the human mind happy. Hanbok is so soft, but also a little hard. She is like a rose, which has both warm beauty and a strong thorn; she is a beautiful woman who has a hot temper. When I meet Hanbok on a special day in Korea and know her soft touch, I feel like flying in the sky. Hanbok has a smell of grass, of midnight in summer, and she is a good teacher for me. I take more care about my walking motion when I hear her crisp sounds. She teaches that if you walk widely, without control, she will make sounds which might bother other people. And when I smell her perfume, which has the sweet fragrance of grass, I feel that I am in heaven. I feel joyful when I look at her shape, which seems like a circle. Yes! For me, Hanbok is a very amiable teacher, a friend who makes me feel better whenever I meet her, and Hanbok is a lover who I really want to see every day. |
