Using the Bulletin
Board
- Login to the Class Homepage.
- Click on the "Bulletin Board"
icon.
- Click on the "Options Menu" in the left column
(it toggles with "Hide Menu"). Click on "Full Screen" (it toggles
with "Split Screen")
- Click on "Forum" in the left column of the
screen. Click on the Forum you want.
To read the assignment and post an
answer:
- Click on "Show All" in the left
column.
- Click on the topic you want.
- Click on the topic and read the
question(s).
- To write your response, click on "Reply" or
"Quote" ("Quote" will include the text to which you are
responding; "Reply" will not). You may delete part of the quote.
You may also type responses between lines of the quoted
message.
- Click in the response box (you may need to
scroll down first if you chose "Quote"). Type your response.
(There is no spellcheck, so check it yourself!)
- When you have finished, click on "Post". To
see your posting, click on "Update Listing" from the left column.
Your response will be marked "New".
To read comments by other participants and to
post an answer:
- Click on "Show All" (it toggles with "Show
Unread") in the left column.
- Click on the comments/topics you want to
read.
- To write your response, click on "Reply" or
"Quote".
- Click in the response box (you may need to
scroll down first if you chose "Quote"). Type your response.
(There is no spellcheck, so check it yourself!)
- When you have finished, click on "Post". To
see your posting, click on "Update Listing" from the left column.
Your message will be marked "New".
To start a new topic (thread):
- To begin a discussion on a new subject, use
the "Compose" button in the left column.
- You *must* enter a subject and message before
posting.
- Type your comment in the box. Click "Post"
when done.
- Note: Press the "Return" key two times to make
a new paragraph.
To move among messages, there are two
methods:
- To read messages in random order: click on the
name of the poster.
- To move in order through "threads" (a message
and all of its responses--these are indented), use the "Prev
Thread" "Next Thread" to move between threads and "Previous in
Thread" "Next in Thread" (to move through the messages in a single
thread).
To get help, click on "Help" in the left
column.
