ISALC: ESL 382: Computer Applications - Fall 1998

My name is Maktoom Al Mazrouei; I am from Abu Dhabi, UAE. I live in the capital. My country is located in the Middle East, and it is hot in the summer and cool in the winter. I am 20 years old; I have a big family, father, mother, grand father, grand mother, three brothers and four sisters. When I was young I told my father to send me to the USA to study, and he said after I graduated from high school. I finished my high school two years ago and I came here to complete my education in the USA. I like to play basketball, football, volleyball, and go swimming, and I like to speak with American students.

First, let me tell you about Lewis & Clark College. It is a good school in which to learn English, and the teachers are very friendly and they want to help us to learn English. If you want to improve your English in this school you must do your homework and attend classes.

My father wants me to be an engineer to work with him in his company, so I am planning to be an engineer. I am studying very hard to improve my English to study engineering. After the language program I will transfer to another college to continue my study in engineering.

I am so glad to be in this class, and I hope every one will learn English very well.
